We ride our bikes past it on the way to the Park. - Carlson Ice Arena is less than 1 mile away if one feels the desire to ice skate. - The Sportscore Soccer Park is less than 2 miles drive, as is the Rockford Rivets Minor League Baseball team and stadium. It is a great place to take in a game of good baseball at a reasonable price during the summer. - The Rockford Ice Hogs (Chicago Blackhawks Ice Hockey Affiliates) play downtown during Hockey season. Also, it can be a great time for the family. - Rockford Speedway is 4.1 miles close. - If one needs to get out of town, a quick trip to the tollway leads to Madison in one hour, Lake Geneva in one hour, and Chicago in 90 minutes (though it is whispered that one driver made it from Lake Shore Drive in Chicago to Rockford in one hour one quiet night...). In less than ten minutes, one can be driving around the scenic countryside that surrounds Rockford, Illinois.
